  6. NEED A LIFT?
No public transport? Difficulty using it? WE CAN HELP YOU. Volunteer drivers using their own cars, or our own wheelchair – accessible vehicles. Please call Royston & District Community Transport 01763 245228 (24-hr answer phone) 48 hours notice required for most journeys. Journeys from 45p/mile. Minimum charge £3.50. I have been a volunteer driver for this scheme for sometime now & have realised what a difference it can make to many peoples lives. A hospital appointment, a visit to the doctors, shopping or even a trip to visit friends has become possible for many who otherwise have to rely on our poor public transport system. This service is open to everyone not just the elderly or disabled. Janet Crouch
